About MamaGotBack

MamaGotBack was created to fill a gap in women’s health — where chronic back pain is real, often misunderstood, and too easily dismissed. We're here to offer something different: support that’s medically informed and emotionally intelligent.

We know the lived experience of pain doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It shows up when you’re trying to pick up your child, sit through a meeting, or simply make it through the day. It comes with frustration, fatigue, and sometimes — feeling unheard.

That’s where we come in

Our Mission

To provide practical, evidence-based tools that help women manage chronic back pain without putting life on pause.

MamaGotBack combines trusted medical insight with real-world strategies.

Our resources are designed to support you at every step of your journey:

  • Preparing for appointments with confidence and clarity

  • Navigating pain flares and recovery with realistic expectations

  • Exploring treatment options with sound, science-backed information

  • Staying active in ways that respect your body’s limits

  • Understanding hormonal influences like periods, pregnancy, and menopause

  • Rebuilding emotional resilience in the face of long-term pain

We also create digital products, articles, and toolkits tailored to the unique challenges women face — from cycle-aware pain planning to movement strategies that don’t require a gym membership.

At MamaGotBack, we advocate for your experience, back it up with research, and give you tools to move forward — in every sense of the word.

From the Founder

My name is Dr Senadheera

I'm a former NHS Doctor with a background in Anaesthetics and Complex Neuro-rehabilitation. I studied Medicine at a London University and went on to train and work across both London and Surrey.

In 2016, I sustained an injury that brought chronic pain into my own life. It was a turning point — one that forced me to step back, reassess, and make changes to my career so I could focus on recovery. That journey included navigating pregnancy while managing pain and rebuilding trust in my body and redefining what recovery looked like for me.

Having lived with chronic pain myself, and now as a mother, I understand its complexities in a way no textbook ever could have taught me.

MamaGotBack was born from that dual lens: professional frustration at the gaps in care, and personal compassion for the women navigating pain every single day. It’s the kind of support I once needed — and what I now offer to others. And I hope it finds its way to the women who need it most.
